What We Practise

All our practices are grounded in Eastern meditation based on the Vedas. We work with techniques such as Pratyāhāra (withdrawal and stabilising of the senses), Dhāraṇā (sustained concentration on a single object) and Dhyāna (meditation as a continuous flow of attention).

We also draw on other approaches: Vedānta (Jñāna Yoga), Sākṣī Bhāva / Vipassana (direct observation), Mantra (sound and vibration), Yoganidrā (conscious relaxation), and meditation on the energy centres, or Chakra, within the framework of Tantra Sādhanā.

The Teacher's Training

Rui has practised meditation since 2008. He trained with the Confederação Portuguesa do Yoga for 14 years, and since 2020 has continued his training with Prof. Bhogal Ji at the Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute. He practises Vedānta, Kriya Yoga and Tantra Sādhanā under the guidance of Swami Samarpanananda Ji, of Rishikesh — who has visited the Āshram in 2023 and 2024.
