Since 2011
Yoga for Neurodivergent Children
There are no special children… because we are all special.

How It Began
Between 2011 and 2017, Sónia and Rui worked with children in public schools run by Porto City Council. To make Yoga genuinely accessible to everyone, they studied the principles of Inclusive Education — classes adjusted to the right pace, the right language, the right environment. That work deepened further through their own experience as parents of a child with specific needs, living that reality first-hand.
What the Classes Are Like
A safe environment, soft lighting, fewer sensory stimuli, and carefully chosen music. Classes are shaped around each child's individual needs.
The First Contact
We start with a conversation with the parent or guardian, to understand the family's and the child's needs and expectations. It isn't a direct booking — it's a conversation. There's no rush. No fixed formula. Just listening.
Other Adaptations
We also have experience teaching Yoga to blind students, with an emphasis on clear, direct verbal communication and individual guidance.
Accessibility note: the Āshram has steps at the entrance and isn't wheelchair accessible; we're happy to explore alternatives, including running sessions at institutions directly.
